FloyyMenor's New Song 'Off The Planet' Has to Escape 'Gata Only'

At 3:33 in the afternoon in Santiago on 7 October, FloyyMenor put three new songs on his YouTube channel in the same minute. Seven and a half hours later 'Off The Planet', the only one of the three with pictures, had 31,762 views. 'VÉNGATE', with Midnvght, had 23,991 and 'Flaite Elegante' 17,201. On streaming services the three arrive together as a single named after the first, licensed to UnitedMasters, the company that also put out 'Gata Only'.

For a singer with 2.16 million YouTube subscribers and 19.15 million monthly listeners on Spotify, that is a decent first day, and a small one beside the song that made him. 'Gata Only', his duet with Cris MJ from February 2024, reached No. 1 on Billboard's Hot Latin Songs, No. 4 on the Billboard Global 200 and No. 27 on the Hot 100. On 8 October it had 2.21 billion Spotify plays and was still adding 982,146 a day, 38 percent of the daily plays of every song that credits him.

FloyyMenor in 2026: one album, no chart single

This year has not produced a second song like it. His album MAN IN BLACK came out on 27 February, and its track 'UuUuuU' spent six days on Spotify's daily chart in Chile, peaking at No. 124. None of his own releases has entered that chart since. 'PLO PLO', with Gabito Ballesteros, came out in June and has 2.9 million Spotify plays; 'Pastillitas De Color', with Oscar Maydon, came out in August and has 2.3 million. Both passed a million views on YouTube. Of this year's releases, the one that went highest in Chile, to No. 21, was 'LUNA LLENA', a Tobal Mj song he sings on with Cris MJ. The audience is there. It has not been turning his new songs into habits.

How 'Off The Planet' sounds

It opens without him. For the first 20 seconds a synth line plays alone, which our classifier files under video-game and trance music. His voice comes in at 19.6 seconds and goes straight into the hook, the passage our section analysis marks as the likeliest chorus because the same sound comes back at 1:29 and again at 2:08. Under it the beat sits at about 96 beats a minute, a reggaeton pace. The classifier's top label for the middle of the song is Afrobeat; it has no label for reggaeton, so we read that as a dance rhythm it cannot name more precisely, not as a change of style.

The loudest stretch is the first verse, from 0:50 to 1:10. After 2:29 his voice all but drops out, and the song closes on 18 seconds of beat. The whole thing lasts 2 minutes 47 seconds.

What 'Off The Planet' means

FloyyMenor printed the Spanish lyric under the video himself. It follows a woman at a club. The chorus that opens the song has her finished with romantic games: she is there to dance and to smoke. The first verse watches her move, waves off a boyfriend who might grow suspicious, and has her floating on his 'nota', Latin American slang for a high. It ends on a couplet sung twice, calling her over and claiming he knew she had fallen for him the moment he saw her face.

The second verse asks her, with a 'my love' in English, whether she really wants him. Its peak is the line the title translates, “Buena fuera del planeta”: she is so good she is out of this world. Then the pre-chorus turns to sex, and the artwork carries a parental advisory label; we leave those lines out.

Can 'Off The Planet' reach Chile's chart?

What it has going for it is all in the first half minute. The hook is the first thing he sings, and the title is a phrase a crowd can shout back. Of the three songs released together it is the one with a video, and it leads the other two by a third. Its first listeners came ready. Among the first 40 comments YouTube surfaces, 15 are some version of 'this one hits', from 'temazo' to a row of fire emoji, and three are counting down to a million views. 2,596 likes on 31,762 views is 8.2 percent.

What works against it is the rest of his year. Two singles with well-known guests each drew a million YouTube views and still missed Chile's Spotify chart. The lyric is thin, its best line is a cliché, and the sexual pre-chorus narrows where it can be played. Putting out three songs at once splits the first week's plays three ways. And Chile's chart is not empty: in September it was led by songs such as KAROL G's 'BbY WOW', which Billboard counted No. 1 there.

We are betting the hook is strong enough to break the run. 'Off The Planet' enters Spotify's daily top 200 in Chile by 21 October, the first of his own songs to do so since 'UuUuuU' in February, and passes a million YouTube views by 7 November. If it misses both, 'Gata Only' will still be paying for the year.
