mymy is a monthly music magazine. Every issue starts from one question: what did people actually play, and how is that different from what the catalog says they should like?

Why we exist

Streaming services describe music with tags. Tags are useful and often wrong. A song filed under one mood gets played in a completely different one, and nobody writes about the gap. We do.

How we work

• Stories come from listening data we hold, and every piece says where its numbers came from.
• Articles are written by people. We do not publish machine-generated filler.
• We publish on a schedule we can actually edit, not as fast as we can generate.
• When a number is an estimate, we say so.
