Terms of use

By using mymy you agree to what follows. If you do not, please do not use the service.

Who we are

mymy is a personal site run by an individual in the Republic of Korea, reachable at ohyus1197@gmail.com.

The music player is part of mymy and uses your mymy account, so these terms cover it too. Its songs play through YouTube's own player, under YouTube's terms, except the audio files and videos members upload, which play from mymy's own storage.

Accounts

  • You must be 16 or older to create an account.
  • You are responsible for what happens under your account.
  • Give us an email address you actually control.
  • You can delete your account at any time on your account page, after typing your password again (or confirming with Google, if your account has no password). Your posts and comments stay on the site with no author, shown as [deleted], and your posts lose their images, unless you choose to delete your posts and comments as well. Moderator accounts are deleted on request to the address above.
  • Usernames must not pretend to be another person, a brand, or mymy staff.
  • Your profile photo is public and follows the same rules as posts (see “What you post”): use a picture you have the right to use, not another person’s face or a brand’s logo presented as yours. Moderators may take a photo down; you are told why.
  • Moderators may suspend an account. A suspended account can still sign in and read, but cannot post, comment, vote, follow, send messages, edit or delete what it wrote, save posts, report, upload images or change its profile. What it already posted stays up unless a moderator removes it. It can still delete the whole account, with or without its posts and comments.

Following

You can follow other members. Whom you follow and who follows you is public, on each profile. You can remove someone from your followers at any time; they are not told. To keep out spam, one account can follow up to 200 others a day (50 in its first day).

Messages

You can send private messages to other members, one to one. Each member chooses who can start a conversation with them: everyone, only people they follow, or no one (conversations they already have stay open; blocking stops one). If someone does not follow you, your first messages reach them as a request: until they accept, you can send up to three messages, with no links, and they can decline without you being told. You can unsend a message, and delete a conversation on your side.

Messages follow the same rules as posts (see “What you post” below). The member you write to can report a message; the moderators then read it and the four messages before it. To keep out spam, one account can start up to 20 new conversations a day (5 in its first day) and send up to 500 messages a day.

Blocking and hiding

You can block another member: you stop following each other, they can no longer follow you, message you or reply to your posts and comments, their posts and comments are folded for you, and they are not told. Blocking does not stop them from reading what is public. You can also hide a post, which folds it in your forum lists. Both are listed on your account page, where you can undo them.

What you post

Posts, comments, links, images and anything else you put on mymy are yours, and you are responsible for them. Only post what you have the right to share. Posts and comments are the views of the people who wrote them, not of mymy.

Do not post or do any of the following:

  • Anything illegal, or anything that encourages breaking the law.
  • Harassment, threats, bullying, or attacks on a person or group.
  • Hate speech, including attacks based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation, disability or age.
  • Sexual content, graphic violence, or anything sexual involving minors.
  • Someone else's personal information, such as addresses, phone numbers or private messages.
  • Material that infringes copyright, including full song lyrics, whole articles, or leaked or pirated music.
  • Spam, advertising, or links to malware or phishing.
  • Pretending to be someone else, or using several accounts or any automated means to push votes or get around a suspension.

Songs you add

You can add a song by pasting the link to its YouTube video, or by uploading its audio file. A linked song plays from YouTube, through YouTube's own player; mymy does not copy or keep its audio. An uploaded file (MP3 or M4A, up to 20 MB and 10 minutes) is kept in mymy's storage and plays in mymy's player. You can also upload a short vertical video (MP4 or MOV, up to 100 MB and 60 seconds, taller than it is wide): it is kept in mymy's storage too, plays with its sound on the Listen page, and elsewhere on mymy (a profile, a playlist) its sound plays in mymy's player. A video counts as a song in what follows.

  • Add only songs you have the right to share: songs you made, or official videos put up by the artist or their label. When you add a song you confirm this, and we record that you did.
  • Say how every song was made: AI (made with an AI music tool, such as Suno or Udio), AI-assisted (made by people with some help from AI) or Human (made by people without AI). The label shows wherever the song does, and listeners can hide AI songs. A song with the wrong label may be removed.
  • A song's title, artist and label are public, with your username, its plays and its likes. Other members can play it, like it, save it to their playlists, comment on it and report it.
  • An uploaded song or video needs a cover: a picture you add when you upload it. The cover is public like the rest of the song. Anyone can play the file on mymy, signed in or not; mymy does not offer it for download.
  • To keep out spam, one account can add up to 10 songs a day (3 in its first day) and 200 in all, videos included; its audio files can take up to 1 GB, and its videos up to 3 GB.
  • You can delete a song you added at any time, on its page. Its likes and comments go with it, and so do its file and cover.
  • If a song uses your work without permission, report it (choose “Copyright infringement”) or email us as described under “Copyright complaints” below. We take down a song reported with those details within 24 hours and tell the member who added it why. An account whose songs are taken down for infringement three times is suspended. A song taken down stays stored, hidden, for the moderators until the account that added it is deleted; the member who added it cannot delete it.
  • mymy has artist pages for artists who say their songs are made with AI: each shows the artist's official releases from their official YouTube channel, labelled AI and played from YouTube, with the artist's details from YouTube Music. An artist can have their page or any song on it taken down by reporting it or writing to us.
  • Plays, likes and charts on mymy are for listeners. We do not pay for songs or plays, and nothing here promises a payment.

Moderation

Moderators may remove or restore any post, comment or song, lock a post so no new comments can be added, suspend an account (and lift the suspension), or close an account, when something breaks these terms or the law, or puts readers or the service at risk. We may do this without warning. When we remove your post, comment or song or suspend your account, your notifications tell you which rule it broke; if you think we got it wrong, write to us at the address above and a person looks at it again. A removed or deleted post takes no new comments. We are not obliged to watch everything posted, but we act on reports.

To keep out spam, each account has daily limits: up to 10 posts, 200 comments, 40 image uploads and 20 profile photo changes a day, and in its first 24 hours 3 posts, 30 comments and 10 image uploads (limits on follows, messages and songs are above).

Anyone signed in with a username, and not suspended, can report a post, a comment, a song, an account or a message sent to them with the Report button. Anyone else, with or without an account, can report illegal content by email to the address above. Removal is at our discretion.

Permission to show your posts

By posting, you give mymy a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to store, copy, display and format what you posted, and to make it available on mymy, only as needed to run and show the service. This permission ends when your post is deleted, except for copies kept for a limited time in routine backups, and except where we have to keep it by law.

Copyright complaints

If something on mymy infringes your copyright, use the Report button and choose “Copyright infringement”, or email ohyus1197@gmail.com with: the work you own, the address of the page where it appears, your name and contact details, and a statement that you own the rights or act for the owner. We remove material that infringes and may close the accounts of people who infringe repeatedly.

Our content

Articles, charts, and the design of this site belong to us. You may quote a short passage with a link back. You may not republish whole articles or our datasets without written permission.

Links and images from other services

Reviews and members' linked songs play videos through YouTube's own player and show their thumbnails. YouTube's own terms apply to what YouTube shows.

What we do not promise

  • The service is provided as is. We do not guarantee it is always available.
  • Editorial figures are drawn from data we hold and can be revised. When we revise one, we say so on the article.
  • We are not responsible for content on sites we link to, including links posted by readers.
  • We do not check posts and comments before they appear and do not guarantee they are accurate.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the service. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the current version. Continuing to use mymy after a change means you accept it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea.
