Hard Rico is a Czech rapper from Ostrava whose own releases are credited to RICO; in October 2026 his official YouTube channel was titled 'RICO', with the handle @RICO-ACAB, while his video titles began with 'HARD RICO'.[2][1] Apple Music and Spotify list his releases from 2020 to 2026 under RICO and Deezer under Rico, and his own releases carry the line '℗ KRIMI DAWGZ COMPANY, distributed by Virgin Music, a division of Universal Music'.[4][10][8][6]

Between 2023 and 2026 seven songs he performed on, one of them as a guest on Dollar Prync's 'Režim nerušit', reached No. 1 on YouTube's weekly Top Songs chart for the Czech Republic, and 'NARCOS', with Yzomandias, spent ten weeks at No. 1 on Spotify's Czech weekly chart.[11][12] In the week ending 15 October 2026 the name RICO entered YouTube's Czech Top Artists chart for the first time, at No. 77; YouTube counted him under two entries, and in the same week the entry 'Hard Rico' was No. 15, in its 253rd week on that chart.[13]

Career

His official channel joined YouTube on 19 February 2017 and listed Czechia as its country; on 23 October 2026 it had 255,000 subscribers, 58 videos and 147,310,753 views.[1] Its earliest upload is 'HARD RICO ft. FREEZ - MAMA 3' (25 November 2018), followed by 'FUCK HEJTRS' (19 May 2019), a #Hot16Challenge2 video (15 May 2020) and the official video for 'Furt' (19 September 2020).[3][14][15][16] Apple Music dates the single 'Hot16' to 8 September 2020 and the five-track EP 'Kriminal Mood' to 10 October 2020.[4] Videos for 'Chabr', 'MZB' with Sergei Barracuda, 'Mala Zem' and 'Kriminal Mood' were posted on 29 October 2020; the last had 9.99 million views by 23 October 2026.[2][17] 'Karanténa', a single by Sergei Barracuda and RICO, entered YouTube's Czech Top Songs at No. 11 in November 2020 and stayed 16 weeks.[4][11]

His first album, 'Devil's Son' (15 tracks), was released on 21 December 2021.[4][10] 'Amnezia' (8 May 2022) peaked at No. 6 on YouTube's Czech Top Songs and charted 27 weeks, and 'Mám co jsem chtěl', produced by DEMO24, Nemo.wave and Samo, peaked at No. 12 and charted 31 weeks.[4][11][18][19] His second album, 'Secret Eyes' (12 tracks), followed on 28 April 2023, after the double single 'Jednou nohou tam / Go hard', whose first side peaked at No. 5.[4][10][11]

'Režim nerušit', by Dollar Prync with RICO, was No. 1 on YouTube's Czech Top Songs for four weeks from late September 2023 and charted 59 weeks; on Spotify's Czech weekly chart it peaked at No. 2.[11][12] 'Brick na brick' (video 5 September 2023), produced by DEMO24 and Nemo.wave, peaked at No. 2; with 16.4 million views by 23 October 2026 it was the most-viewed video on his channel.[9][11][2] The video for 'Narcos' with Yzomandias, posted on 30 May 2024 as the first clip from his next album, reached No. 1 on YouTube's Czech Top Songs for two weeks; on Spotify's Czech weekly chart 'NARCOS' spent ten weeks at No. 1 and was still on the chart in October 2026, in its 124th week.[20][11][12]

His third album, 'GLOBAL' (14 tracks, 18 October 2024), had guest spots by Luca Brassi10x, Rytmus, Robin Zoot and Yzomandias; in its first chart week 12 of its 14 tracks were in YouTube's Czech Top 100, led by 'GHETTO ROMANTIKA', which spent four weeks at No. 1.[46][4][21][11] The 'Hard Rico' entry was No. 1 on YouTube's Czech Top Artists chart for ten weeks across June and July 2024, October 2024 and September 2025.[22] Between December 2024 and February 2025 his channel posted Shorts announcing or filmed at his concerts in Ostrava, Hradec Králové, Olomouc, Brno, Prague, Trnava and Žilina.[23][24][7][25][26][27][28]

In 2025 'Mě Nedostanou' (1 April) and 'SI JE*LA' (September) both reached No. 1 on YouTube's Czech Top Songs, and 'SI JE*LA' spent four weeks at No. 1 on Spotify's Czech weekly chart.[29][30][11][12] 'ZA KATREM' (single dated 5 January 2026) and 'Vše co chci', from the double single 'G Party / Vše co chci' (May 2026), each spent two weeks at No. 1 on YouTube's Czech chart, and 'VOJNA' with Rytmus entered at No. 2 in April 2026.[31][32][4][11]

His fourth album, 'Focus', was released on 26 June 2026 with 12 tracks and guests BUKA, Luca Brassi10x and Pil C, and P T K; it was credited to RICO on Apple Music, Deezer and YouTube.[33][5][34] In its first chart week 'Ona je se mnou' entered YouTube's Czech Top Songs at No. 6, 'Furt to jsem já' at No. 10 and 'Hell' at No. 36; 'Furt to jsem já' was still on the chart in the week ending 15 October 2026, at No. 99 in its 16th straight week.[11] On 23 October 2026 his Spotify page showed 615.2K monthly listeners.[8]

Name: Hard Rico and RICO

His channel was renamed RICO while its videos kept the 'HARD RICO' title format, and his releases were filed under RICO on the major services.[2][1][4][8] Reporting on his appeal hearing on 15 October 2026, the Czech News Agency wrote that he had told the court he had changed his stage name from Hard Rico to Rico and that a tough image was no longer his style.[35] In the week ending 15 October 2026 YouTube's charts kept the two names as separate artist entries, so 'RICO' entered as a new artist at No. 77 while 'Hard Rico' was No. 15.[13] The YouTube Music channel that the RICO chart entry links to also gathers releases by other artists named Rico, including a Dutch-language album and an instrumental album.[36][37][38]

Criminal case

On 1 April 2026 the Regional Court in Ostrava sentenced him to four years in prison and a fine of CZK 2 million as the organiser of a robbery and extortion in Ostrava-Poruba in March 2025; the verdict was not final.[39] On 15 October 2026 the High Court in Olomouc raised the prison term to five years and confirmed the fine.[35]

Collaborations

He appeared as a guest on songs by Treelas, SKiNNY BARBERRY, Dollar Prync, Koky, 13Many, Yzomandias and Viktor Sheen, Raphael, Ben Cristovao, Kirah66, Robin Zoot and El Nino, among others.[4][40][41][11][42] 'až bude hořet', with Yzomandias and Viktor Sheen (11 April 2024), reached No. 9 on YouTube's Czech Top Songs and No. 2 on Spotify's Czech daily chart.[11][43]

Use of AI

Of the 58 uploads on his official channel checked on 23 October 2026, one carries YouTube's 'Made with AI' panel, which covers sounds or visuals that were altered or fully generated: the video for 'G Party / Vše co chci' (13 May 2026), whose credits list visual effects by Punqinky. The other 57 uploads and the 'Furt to jsem já' audio track carry no such panel.[32][2][6]
