Five million views behind a white mask
Zavyre's 'Don't Let Go' Has No AI Label. The Act's Five Newest Solo Songs Do
Is Zavyre a real person? The masked act says so and calls AI a tool. 'Don't Let Go' has no AI label; the 5 newest solo songs do. Zavyer is another name.
Min Key,
Zavyre, the masked act behind 'Don't Let Go', says a real person is behind the mask and that AI is one of its tools. It has shown no face, legal name or hometown, and nothing public yet shows that person singing the song. YouTube's labels have moved in the meantime: since 16 October, all five songs Zavyre has released alone carry the platform's 'Made with AI' disclosure. 'Don't Let Go', the September single people are searching for, does not, and neither does anything Zavyre released alone before then.
'Don't Let Go' came out on 11 September 2026. On 31 October it was inside the Shazam top 50 in five countries: 13th in Zambia, 16th in Kenya, 22nd in Tanzania, 40th in the UAE and 42nd in Uganda. Its official audio on YouTube passed five million views the same day. Google's suggestions show what listeners type next: whether Zavyre is a real person, whether Zavyre is an AI artist, and who is behind the name. Two songs we covered earlier this month reached the same charts with the same question attached: Bjorn Bonebreaker's 'Mama, Don't Close Your Eyes' and Sunvera Scott's 'Pray for Me'.

Zavyre's AI labels: none on 'Don't Let Go', five since 16 October
All 17 songs Zavyre has released alone reached YouTube through DistroKid, each as an audio upload with its cover picture. YouTube shows a 'How this was made' box on a video when sound or images were made or changed with AI; the uploader declares it, and YouTube says it may add the label itself. We checked all 17 song pages for that box.
Twelve carry no such label. They run from 'Where You Belong' on 10 July to 'Tell Me What You Want' on 2 October, and include 'Don't Let Go' and 'It's Only You', which has 1.86 million views. The other five carry it under the heading 'Made with AI': 'On My Mind', released on 16 October, and 'Temporary', 'Stay', 'Mama' and 'Bad Medicine', the four new songs on SIX WAYS TO LOVE, an EP released a week later. The sentence under that heading is identical on every labelled video and covers sound and pictures alike, so it cannot tell us which part was generated; on an audio upload the only picture is the cover.
The channel itself, with about 72,800 subscribers on 31 October, has 87 more uploads: eight videos and 79 Shorts, the first from 14 July. One Short is age-restricted and would not open for us; of the other 86, two carry the same label, and both are early. One is 'Addicted To You (Acoustic Music Video)', posted on 9 August and watched 185,117 times; its thumbnail shows a hooded figure in white fur at a grand piano and a guitarist on a sofa behind. The other is a 55-second Short for 'I'll Be Your Light' from 26 July. The clip that looks most like a performance has no label: a 49-second Short headed 'Live session' of 'Addicted To You', posted on 12 August and watched 512,486 times, in which the masked figure sings at a microphone, with no place or date given.
A video called 'This Is Zavyre', posted on 19 September, is the act's own answer, though it is no face reveal. It is staged as a backstage scene, with the masked figure in white fur, a man without a mask in a black T-shirt and a lanyard, and the sound of a screaming crowd. Asked what it would tell people who wonder whether it is real, the masked figure says: 'That Zavyre is real. I'm real.' Some of the photos, the videos and 'the worlds around the music', it goes on, are real and some are 'created or strengthened with AI'. Asked whether that makes Zavyre an AI artist, it says no: AI 'is one of the tools I use to tell the story'. The face stays hidden, it says, so that the music comes first. It does not say whose voice is on the records, or whether AI is used on it. The video carries no AI label, and its description names no person or place.
The credits are as bare. Every one of the 17 songs carries the rights line '℗ Zavyre', and those for 'Don't Let Go' list Zavyre as vocalist and studio producer and no one else.
Zavyer, a near-namesake with its own 'Don't Let Go'
Search for the song and a second name turns up beside it. The first release Apple Music lists for Zavyer, the same letters with the last two swapped, is a single also called 'Don't Let Go', dated 16 September 2026, five days after Zavyre's. By 24 October the name had 25 titles out, all since 16 September, and three of them are titles Zavyre used first: 'Don't Let Go', 'Addicted To You' (Zavyre's on 7 August, Zavyer's on 18 September) and 'Don't Love Me Late' (21 August and 23 September). Zavyer has also put out a 'Don't Let Go (Acoustic Version)' and an album called 'Don't Let Go vol.1'.
Zavyer's 'Don't Let Go' has an audience of its own. On the automatic YouTube channel for the name it showed 284,674 views on 31 October. Its credits name Zavyer only for 'background vocals', and its rights line reads '℗ 13727224 Records DK', a numbered DistroKid label where a label name would normally be.
Our software reads the same tempo and key in the two pairs we measured: 99.4 beats a minute in D minor for the two 'Don't Let Go' tracks, 117.5 in C sharp major for the two 'Don't Love Me Late' tracks. Zavyer's run longer, by 37 and 17 seconds. They are different recordings, and going by the words, different songs. Our speech model heard Zavyre sing 'love me late' four times and 'don't let go' four times. In Zavyer's two tracks it heard neither phrase at any point, though it did catch 'honesty', a word from Zavyre's bridge, once at 1:29 in Zavyer's 'Don't Let Go'.
We could not find who is behind Zavyer, and nothing public ties the two names together beyond those titles. Whatever the reason for the overlap, someone who types the song's name, or half-remembers the singer's, can land on a different song in the same tempo and key that never sings the words they came for.
'Don't Let Go' by Zavyre: a plea that opens on its chorus
The hook, “Tell me that you love me”, starts 1.3 seconds in; there is no intro. The verse after it is about sensing that something has shifted in a partner who still behaves as before, and wanting it said out loud instead of guessed at.
The bridge arrives at about 0:55, where the words thin out to under one a second by our count, and it boils the request down to one line: “All I want is honesty”. The chorus then returns twice, and the last 25 seconds are mostly hummed. The recording lasts 2:27, and its loudest stretch, from 1:46 to 2:02, is where our classifier adds gospel to its rhythm-and-blues tags.
Listeners argue about the voice more than the words. Fourteen of the first 40 comments YouTube showed us under the official audio are about whether a person is singing. Eight take AI for granted, including the most-liked of them; four insist on a real, masked singer; two are unsure or say they do not mind. The comment with the most likes overall is a listener typing out the words.
Zavyre on a Swedish single, and a 'Live Version' with no crowd
On 30 October Zavyre turned up on someone else's record for the first time we could find. 'I Told You That I Loved You' is credited to Rasmus Gozzi, FRÖKEN SNUSK and Zavyre, issued by Gozzi Records through the Swedish distributor ALOADED. Its writing and production credits name three people, Rasmus Gozzi, Max Johansen and Palle Hammarlund; Zavyre is billed as a performer only. It is a new Zavyre song without an AI label: neither its music video nor its two audio uploads carry one.
The single comes in two versions, and the second is marked 'Live Version'. Our sound classifier hears guitars, a slide guitar and a saxophone across its 3:38, and tags no applause, cheering or crowd anywhere.
Zavyre, Zavyer and the five-million-view 'Don't Let Go'
Seven weeks after release, nobody outside the act has shown who sings 'Don't Let Go'. Zavyre's own answer is that a person stands behind the mask and uses AI as a tool, without saying whether that includes the voice. Its uploads carry seven 'Made with AI' labels that never say which part was generated; five of them sit on the newest songs, none on the one that made the act known. In the meantime, the spelling at least settles which song a searcher has found: the 'Don't Let Go' with five million views is by Zavyre, with the r before the e.
About the data
- We read everything here on 31 October 2026 (UTC). Our radar collected the Shazam positions that day from the top 200 lists Shazam publishes for 70 countries. Release dates and track lists are from Apple Music's and Deezer's public catalogues, and the rights lines as Apple Music and YouTube print them; Deezer also lists 'Don't Let Go' a second time, dated 15 September, under the label name PT. INDONESIAN DIGITAL MUSIC GROUP MEDIA, with the same ISRC and UPC as the 11 September release; credits are from the descriptions YouTube's automatic channels carry for each song. For the label, we scanned the HTML of the 17 song uploads and the 87 other uploads on Zavyre's channel (one, an age-restricted Short, would not open without signing in), having tried the scan first on Bulin 47's 'Dame Hombro', which has the label. Only boxes headed 'Made with AI' were counted, because YouTube also uses the box for automatic dubbing. Words quoted from 'This Is Zavyre' are from the video's English captions, checked against the subtitles shown on screen. The 40 comments under 'Don't Let Go' were sorted by hand, and none is quoted.
- Tempo, key, length and the run of loud and quiet parts are our software's reading of each recording's sound, and we deleted each sound file as soon as it had been measured. Our speech model listened for the title phrases in all four tracks; it can miss a word, so 'never sings' means it did not hear the phrase in any section. For the words we relied on a listener's transcription posted under the official audio, compared with what our model heard. Two short lyric lines appear in quotation marks; the rest is paraphrased. Zavyre's Instagram and TikTok accounts and Spotify's listener figures were not open to us and are not used. We found no news report on Zavyre or Zavyer, and we did not use the lyric and database sites that write about the act.
