A 2024 single, two days after one runway walk
What Song Did Kylie Walk To? JADE's 'Angel of My Dreams' at Victoria's Secret
What song did Kylie Jenner walk to at Victoria's Secret? JADE's 'Angel of My Dreams', from 2024. Two days later it was on Spotify charts in 12 countries.
Min Key,
Kylie Jenner walked the 2026 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show to 'Angel of My Dreams' by JADE. The show was staged on 18 October on a Sony Pictures studio stage in Culver City, California, and Jenner, on her first walk for the brand, came out in a pair of white feathered wings. The track was two years old. It was Jade Thirlwall's first single on her own, out on 19 July 2024, and it reached No. 7 on Britain's Official Singles Chart that summer; Little Mix, the group she sang in, had gone on hiatus in May 2022.
Two days later it was on Spotify's charts. The daily lists for 20 October, as kworb.net archives them, have 'Angel of My Dreams' in 12 countries. In 2024 it had made two, Britain and Ireland. Ten of the twelve are first entries, the United States among them, where it came in 197th on 308,936 streams. Iceland put it highest, at 28th. Britain had it 61st, its first day on that list since two days in March 2025, just after JADE sang it at the BRIT Awards.
Who sang at the 2026 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show? Not JADE
JADE was not on the bill; 'Angel of My Dreams' was played from the record. The singers on stage were Tate McRae, who opened her set with 'Housewife', the country singer Megan Moroney, Megan Thee Stallion and KATSEYE. JADE's part came afterwards, when she posted a clip of herself on a London Underground train with the song playing, joking that nobody aboard knew it had just played under Jenner's walk.
What 'Angel of My Dreams' is about: love and hate for the pop business
'Angel of My Dreams' is JADE addressing the music industry, and fame is the angel. The chorus says she will always love it and hate it, want it and need it, and that it does not care. The first verse lists what it ignores: whether she is angry, sad or crying, because money is all it notices. A line about handing her soul over to a psycho was read in the British press as a dig at Syco, the label Little Mix were signed to from 2011 to 2018; JADE told Beat Magazine in 2024 that it was not specifically about that, and that the song traces her path from joining the music business to now.
The pre-chorus is where the runway comes in. The spotlight feels nice, she admits: “When the camera flashy, I act so happy”, and she is in heaven while she is being looked at. A song about putting on a happy face for cameras was picked for a walk staged for a bank of them. The second verse turns to what she pays out: a car, a house and a Gucci suit paid for by her, with the bin waiting if she fails and lawsuits if she succeeds. The closing chorus ends on a promise to love it all anyway.
'Angel of My Dreams' sample: Sandie Shaw's 'Puppet on a String'
The opening words are borrowed. “I wonder if one day that you'll say that you care” is the first line of 'Puppet on a String', the song Sandie Shaw sang to win the 1967 Eurovision Song Contest for the United Kingdom. JADE starts the 1967 song's next line too and cuts it off before it gets to the puppet. That borrowing is why Bill Martin and Phil Coulter, who wrote 'Puppet on a String', share the credit with JADE, Steph Jones, Pablo Bowman and the producer, Mike Sabath.
On the official audio the borrowed line comes first, under a second in, with almost nothing behind it; the music comes in at full volume just before 0:09, and the dance beat takes over at 0:33. The first verse, from 0:41, goes by at close to three words a second, quicker than anything else in the song, and the track closes on 11 seconds of soft humming, 3:17 in all.
Shazam No. 1 in the Philippines: where 'Angel of My Dreams' is spreading
Early on 20 October, UTC, 'Angel of My Dreams' was in no country's Shazam top 100. Late that day it was in 26 countries' top 100s, 14 of them top 50s, and a day later in 40 top 100s and 25 top 50s, first in the Philippines and third in Thailand. Neither of those two has it on its Spotify list yet. Shazam counts people asking a phone to name a song they can hear, which fits a song reaching them under reposted clips of the walk.
Fontaines D.C.'s Grian Chatten turns up in the official video, and the same scene is in his band's own 'Starburster' video. JADE's video stood at 17,020,015 views on 22 October.
On 21 October, three days after the show, an 'Angel of My Dreams EP' came out with the original, the 2024 S.A.D. version (Slow. Angelic. Dramatic.), a slowed-down version, a sped-up version and an instrumental. Slowed and sped-up edits are the forms of a song that usually travel under short videos.
Latin America has 'Angel of My Dreams' on Shazam, not yet on Spotify
Shazam suggests where it goes next. 'Angel of My Dreams' is in the Shazam top 15 in Chile, Brazil, Venezuela and Colombia, and on none of their Spotify lists. Those four, and others like them, are where the count can grow. By our forecast it will: on at least one Spotify daily chart date up to 31 October, 'Angel of My Dreams' will be on the lists of at least 20 countries at once (the Global chart not counted), against 12 on 20 October.
Two years after release, 'Angel of My Dreams' is on the Spotify charts of 12 countries, against two in its first run, and in 40 Shazam top 100s, all within about three days of one walk down a runway.
About the data
- For Spotify we used kworb.net, which stores every country's daily and weekly list with stream counts; its latest daily list is dated 20 October 2026. Shazam places come from the top 200 charts of 70 countries (69 on the last read), of which we read places 1 to 100, three times: early on 20 October, about 00:30 UTC, then late that day and late on the 21st, close to midnight UTC both times. YouTube showed the official video's views at about 00:00 UTC on 22 October. On the official audio, librosa marked where the sections change, a speech recogniser timed the words and an AudioSet-trained classifier picked out the closing hum; we deleted the audio afterwards.
- The date and line-up of the show are from Victoria's Secret's announcements, the venue from Associated Press photo captions, and the song from JADE's own post about it. We took release dates from Apple Music, the 2024 British peak from the Official Charts Company and the writing credits from the song's Wikipedia article; JADE's answer about the psycho line is from her 2024 interview with Beat Magazine. Lyrics were read from LRCLIB's transcription; two lines are quoted, one of them the opening of 'Puppet on a String', and the rest are described.
