A name that sounds like someone else's
Is Thekidszn The Kid LAROI? No, and February's 'IMPULSIVE' Charted in October
Is Thekidszn The Kid LAROI? No. He's a rapper releasing since 2019 whose channel lists the US. His February single 'IMPULSIVE' hit Spotify charts in October.
Min Key,
No. Thekidszn is not The Kid LAROI, the Australian singer and rapper born Charlton Howard in 2003. Thekidszn is a rapper whose YouTube channel lists the United States, and he has been putting out music since 2019. His song 'IMPULSIVE' is the reason so many people are suddenly asking who he is.
The mix-up starts with the name, which opens with 'The Kid' like the famous one. He has not explained the rest in anything we read, though SZN is common online shorthand for 'season'. Like DA TI, the Georgian singer of 'Take Me There', Thekidszn has no English Wikipedia article. We also found no English press coverage of him.
Is Thekidszn related to The Kid LAROI?
Nothing we found connects them. The Kid LAROI's records have come out through Columbia since he joined Lil Bibby's Grade A Productions in 2019. Thekidszn's own releases first carried his own label name and, since November 2024, SANA / LISTEN TO THE KIDS. The two have separate artist pages on YouTube Music and Apple Music, and Apple Music lists no song with both of them on it.

Who is Thekidszn signed to?
SANA / LISTEN TO THE KIDS is the name in the rights-holder line of every release under his own name since 'IT TOOK TIME' on 22 November 2024, 'IMPULSIVE' and its October remix included. Before that, his solo releases, from the Elevated EP in April 2020 to 'WITH OR WITHOUT YOU' in September 2024, carried his own name in that line: THEKIDSZN, THEKIDSZN RECORDS, or THEKIDSZN LLC & MGMT on the 2020 single 'Goat'. His website sends booking requests to Outshine Talent.
How old is Thekidszn, and what is his real name?
Neither is on his channel or his website, and no interview we found gives them.
Is Thekidszn a real person?
Yes, by every sign we could check. His YouTube channel holds 27 uploads, Shorts included, going back to July 2022, and some of the early Shorts show him on camera; in one, 'i have never made a song like this in my life', he sings into a studio microphone in headphones. YouTube puts a disclosure note under videos made or altered with AI, usually because the uploader says so; none of the 27 has one. His website, whose copyright line reads 2023, calls him a rapper and hip-hop recording artist and names 'Leave Me Alone', 'Goat' and 'Pain' as the singles that first got him noticed.
Thekidszn's 'IMPULSIVE' on the charts, almost eight months after release
On his own channel, his most played upload is still 'ENDZONE' from September 2025, at 696,523 views by 17 October; 'IMPULSIVE' itself sits on the automatic YouTube Music channel for his songs, not on his own. It came out on 20 February 2026, with CV, Maru and Sapjer credited as producers, and it reached Spotify's daily top 200 for the first time on 11 October, almost eight months later.
The archive site kworb.net shows it entering Austria's top 200 that day, then Germany, Norway, Switzerland, Hungary and Estonia on 12 October, the United Kingdom, Canada, Sweden and Slovakia on 13 October, and Czechia and Latvia on 14 October. In 11 of the 12 countries its best place so far came on 15 October, including 65th in Austria, 71st in Estonia, 92nd in Norway and 97th in Germany.
In our radar's readings, North America came first. When the radar started reading Shazam's charts on 2 October, 'IMPULSIVE' was 95th in Canada and absent from every other country's top 100. A sped-up and a slowed version had just come out: YouTube Music posted them on 1 October, and Apple Music dates them 2 October. At 23:08 UTC on 17 October it stood in 19 countries' top 100s and 10 countries' top 50s: 13th in Canada, 23rd in the United States and 36th in the United Kingdom. In the United States the two charts disagree: Shazam users there rank it in the twenties, while Spotify's US daily top 200 has not listed it so far.
The remix came as the song was spreading. 'IMPULSIVE' with the Belfast-raised rapper Jordan Adetunji went up on Thekidszn's channel at 04:00 UTC on 16 October, and his last three Shorts, posted from 15 to 17 October, all carry the tag #impulsive.
Thekidszn's genre and the BPM of 'IMPULSIVE'
Hip-hop is the label on his website, but 'IMPULSIVE' leans toward R&B: in its three loudest sections our sound classifier picks rhythm and blues first and hip hop second. The song is short, 2:36, and the vocal comes in almost at once over a quiet, ambient electronic opening. The beat lands at 0:17. The loudest stretch begins at 0:34, where the hook first comes in, and returns at 1:42 after a quieter break; by the timed lyrics, the hook comes round again at 1:08 and 1:59. Our speech model hears about 1.6 to 2.8 words a second in the busy sections, slower than fast rap, and the classifier tags rapping only in the stretch from 0:59. By our count 'IMPULSIVE' runs at about 113 BPM, and its key comes out closest to C-sharp minor.
Thekidszn has been releasing music for seven years, and 'IMPULSIVE' took almost eight months to reach Spotify's daily charts. With the song already 23rd on Shazam's US chart, we expect it to enter Spotify's US daily top 200 before 15 November.
About the data
- His country, join date and links come from his YouTube channel's About page, and the count of 27 uploads on its Videos and Shorts tabs and the AI-note check from each video's own page, all read on 17 and 18 October 2026 (UTC). Release dates and label lines are from Apple Music's catalogue, with the release date of 'IMPULSIVE' taken from its YouTube Music credits, which also name the producers. The Kid LAROI's details are from his English Wikipedia article. Spotify positions are the daily charts archived by kworb.net up to 16 October, and play totals are kworb.net's artist page as updated on 12 October. Shazam ranks come from our radar, which checks about 70 national Shazam charts down to No. 100; its first check was at 05:34 UTC on 2 October and the latest at 23:08 UTC on 17 October.
- We kept the audio of 'IMPULSIVE' only as long as the measurements took, then deleted it. Our listening tool splits the song into sections, counts words a second with a speech model and names the sounds it hears with a classifier; it cannot tell one voice from another. The timed lyrics on LRCLIB put his first line at 0:01 and the hook at 0:34, 1:08 and 1:59. The tempo comes from 249 beats between 0:17 and 2:30 fitted to a straight line, and the key-finder compares the song's average pitch profile with templates for the 24 major and minor keys, so it can mistake a key for a close relative. We quote no lyrics.
