'Glasine': Klijent and Jala Brat Hit No. 4 in Serbia on a Wave of Nostalgia

Is Klijent and Jala Brat's 'Glasine' a hit? No. 4 on YouTube in Serbia on day one, 238,000 views in its first 12 hours, and comments that miss the old sound.

Min Key,

Still: IMPERIA / YouTube ('Glasine')

A homecoming more than a debut: the comments hear Jala Brat's older records, and the charts are following. A regional hit already, not yet Klijent's own.

“Glasine”, Bosnian for rumours, went up on the YouTube channel of IMPERIA, the label Jala Brat and Buba Corelli founded in Sarajevo in 2019, at 10:00 UTC on 2 October. It is credited to Klijent featuring Jala Brat. Twelve and a half hours later it had about 238,000 views and 11,600 likes, and on YouTube's daily trending list for Serbia the next morning it stood at No. 4.

Klijent has been here before with the same partner. “Slike”, also with Jala Brat, has 4.6 million views on the same channel, and “DUMDUM”, with Jala Brat and Buba Corelli, has 9.9 million since April 2025, about 18,000 a day across a year and a half. “Glasine” did thirteen times that daily average in its first twelve hours.

How it sounds

It opens on ten seconds of soft, ambient keys before a voice comes in at 0:09. The beat builds under two short passages and the hook lands at 0:31, the loudest part of the song, then returns at 1:01 and again at 1:46, running to 2:30. The last 23 seconds are instrumental. Our sound classifier keeps filing the groove under Afrobeat and reggae rather than trap, which fits what you hear: a lilting, swung rhythm at about 118 beats per minute with the rapping riding on top of it, at around two and a half words a second.

Whose song it is

Klijent's name comes first, but the comment section belongs to his guest. Of the 40 comments YouTube ranks highest, eleven mention Jala Brat and five mention Klijent. Ten of them, with 716 likes between them, are about the past: the song reminds them of the old albums, of older hits, of a few years ago. Only one comment mentions a wedding, and one Bosnia.

That is the strength and the limit of the record. The sound people are welcoming is the one they already loved, and the voice they are naming is the established one. It travels on nostalgia and on Jala Brat. What it does not yet show is what Klijent sounds like when the song is his.

Our call

A hit in the region, made of old parts. Our bet: “Glasine” passes one million views on YouTube by 9 October, and it is in the top 10 of YouTube's next weekly song chart for Serbia, the first to count its release week.

Sources

  • YouTube figures and the 40 top comments were read on 2 October 2026, about 12 and a half hours after the upload; comments were counted by subject and by whom they name, not quoted. The Serbian trending place is our own reading of YouTube's daily chart on 3 October. Imperia's founding is as recorded in its public history.
  • We measured tempo and loudness in the official video's audio and put it through our listening tools: a section analysis that finds which parts come back, a speech model for where the voice is and how fast it moves, and a sound classifier. They are machines, not ears, and the names they give sounds are estimates. No lyric has been published yet; we describe the sound and the title, not the words.
