The Extended Version entered Shazam's global Top 50 on 14 July 2026 and spent eight days at No. 1, with about 2 million identifications by 21 September.[4] In the United Kingdom, Official Charts lists 'Bad Times' at No. 2 on the Official Singles Downloads Chart and No. 4 on the Official Singles Sales Chart, each after four weeks, at No. 26 on the Official Dance Singles Chart, and in its first week on the Official Singles Chart at No. 97, on the chart dated 1 October 2026.[3]

The Extended Version's Shazam run began more than three months after the upload, and of the 40 most-liked comments under the official video, read on 21 September 2026, 16 credited Instagram reels or a creator duo, Ben & Zara, for bringing them to the song; nine gave their age, from 48 to 77.[4]

Shazam lists the tempo as 108 beats per minute; mymy measured the upload at 107.7, in F minor, with a level that stays between 81 and 100 percent of its peak after a quieter opening eighth.[4] The lyric, 30 lines long, is mostly about being talked about and answering with self-worth; it is not reproduced here.
