Beni Al (Ta Ki Seni Görene Kadar)

'Beni Al' is a Turkish song written and first sung by Mertkan Erkan, released under his name on 24 June 2022 on the label Elektronikplak at 2 minutes 27 seconds.[4] Ankara Echoes recorded it as the opening track of the EP 'Echoes Of Anatolia' on 27 September 2025, at 2:49, and put its own video on YouTube on 19 March 2026, with a live performance the next day.[1][5][6] An Afro House remix by Kürşad Kahraman followed on 26 May 2026, at 4:12.[7]

## Three recordings, one song

mymy measured the three recordings and found the same composition in the same key, F sharp minor, with the same words line for line; what changed is the pace. Erkan's 2022 recording runs at about 89 beats per minute, the band's 2026 recording a little slower at about 86, and the remix at 123, the tempo of a club track.[6]

## What the title means

'Beni al' means 'take me', and the subtitle means 'until I saw you'. The song opens with a plea in the language of fire, take me and burn me the way you burn, and the singer's own fire reaches the arş, the old word for the highest heaven. The verse recalls a city the singer curses and nights that were not really nights, until the moment they saw you, the phrase the whole song hangs on. It closes on a Turkish idiom of mock reproach and a condition: all this, if you are not going to be mine.[6] The lyric is in the band's video descriptions and on the streaming services, and is not reproduced here.

## Charts and reach

On 26 September 2026 the remix was in the top 50 of 18 of the 70 country charts Shazam publishes and in the top 200 of 30: No. 5 in Bulgaria, No. 6 in Romania, No. 9 in the United Arab Emirates and No. 10 in Israel, Morocco and Russia; none of the 18 countries has Turkish as a national language. Its YouTube upload had 67,513,909 views that day, the band's March recording 20,065,136, the live video 7,032,910, and Erkan's 2022 upload 80,072.[5][6]

## Other versions

The title has been reused. On 10 June 2026 an artist listed as Uzak Ateş released a track titled almost exactly like the official remix, and on 19 June a remix by Meltem Hayırlı appeared with Ankara Echoes credited alongside her; who licensed what has not been examined.[6] For the band and its credits, see [Ankara Echoes](/wiki/ankara-echoes).
