Imael Angel is the name on a run of house singles that began on 30 March 2026 with 'BAD TIMES', released on the artist's own label, Imael Angel Records.[5] By 27 September 2026 the Deezer catalogue under the name held 34 releases.[6] Two songs carrying the name reached No. 1 on Shazam's global chart in 2026: the Extended Version of 'Bad Times', and 'Movin' To The Sun', the HUGEL single with Ultra Naté that grew out of an earlier Imael Angel track.[17][13]

## Who is behind the name

The artist's Instagram account describes Imael Angel as a deep house producer and Reiki master, and had about 55,000 followers on 27 September 2026.[1] A second website, imaelangel.co.uk, presents 'Imael Angel Reiki Therapist': one-to-one Reiki sessions, a 21-day cleansing programme, a crystal shop, and a first-person note saying the author has guided people on their path to healing for more than a decade.[2] The music website, imaelangel.com, carries no biography. It lists figures the artist claims, more than 13 million Spotify streams, 4.5 million monthly listeners and a No. 1 on Beatport, none of them dated, and a management email address.[3]

No real name, age or home town has been published by the artist, and this page does not guess at them. Wikipedia's article on 'Movin' To The Sun' calls Imael Angel a Hungarian producer,[4] and the catalogue includes songs with Hungarian titles, 'KÜZDELMES ÉLET' and 'KÉT KARODBAN', both released in April 2026.[12][16] The artist has not stated a nationality in any source found for this page.

## Music

The releases go out through the distributor DistroKid under Imael Angel Records, and the credits YouTube prints from that data are sparse. 'I'm Alive' (23 May 2026) names Imael Angel as studio producer and instrumentalist;[11] 'The Alchemist' (15 April 2026) names a separate studio producer, Bernadett Gango;[10] 'Da Da Dadada Bad Times' (14 June 2026) came out through SMA LLC, with Imael Angel as composer and lyricist.[14] The catalogue has moved fast: Deezer lists 34 releases between 30 March and 19 September 2026, including five in the three days from 17 to 19 September.[6]

'Bad Times' is the breakout. The official upload on the artist's YouTube channel, titled 'Bad Times Deep House', had 34,189,166 views on 21 September 2026,[7] and Shazam's artist page showed 10,073,578 identifications of the artist's songs the same day.[8] The song's Extended Version spent eight days at No. 1 on Shazam's global chart after entering its Top 50 on 14 July.[17] In the United Kingdom it reached No. 2 on the Official Singles Downloads Chart and No. 4 on the Official Singles Sales Chart in September, and entered the Official Singles Chart at No. 97 on the chart dated 1 October 2026.[9]

'Movin' To The Sun' is the bigger record. Released on 22 May 2026 by Make The Girls Dance Records and credited to HUGEL, Imael Angel and Ultra Naté,[15] it lists Imael Angel for composition and lyrics, HUGEL, Late Nine, Maximilian Riehl and Loris Cimino as its producers, and Ultra Naté on vocals.[4] It reached No. 2 on the UK Official Singles Chart, spent eight weeks in the Top 10, and was No. 1 on the UK Dance Singles and Independent Singles charts for eight weeks each;[9] it also topped the list of the world's most-Shazamed songs and Billboard's Dance Airplay chart.[13] The track it grew from, Imael Angel's own 'I'm Moving to the Sun', had one week on the UK Official Singles Sales Chart, at No. 63, in May 2026.[9]

## The AI question

The one statement on record comes from a collaborator. HUGEL told the British radio station Capital Dance that 'Movin' To The Sun' began with Imael Angel, who used AI to write the song, and that he then recreated it from scratch before asking Ultra Naté to record the vocal.[4] On 24 September 2026 he posted a video on Instagram walking through that process after questions about the record's origins; EDM House Network reported it and described the original 'I'm Moving to the Sun' as an AI-generated song that went viral in April 2026.[13]

Imael Angel had made no public statement about how 'Bad Times' or the rest of the catalogue is made as of 27 September 2026: the Instagram profile, the two websites and the YouTube descriptions do not mention AI.[1][2][3][7] That is why the box on this page says AI-assisted on a third party's word rather than the artist's. mymy's own experiment, [an AI copy of 'Bad Times' built from its tempo and key](/trends/bad-times-imael-angel-ai-test), found nothing in the sound that settles the question either way, and [the magazine's account of what is confirmed](/new-releases/imael-angel-bad-times) reaches the same place: the numbers are on the record, the person behind the name has said little.
