ROSÉ is a singer and songwriter and one of the four members of BLACKPINK, the Korean girl group that debuted on 8 August 2016.[1] She was born in New Zealand and grew up in Melbourne, Australia.[4] Since December 2023 her solo career has been handled by The Black Label, and she records for Atlantic Records; YG Entertainment still manages the group.[1][2][3]

## 'APT.'

'APT.', her duet with Bruno Mars, came out on 18 October 2024.[3] It opened at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 dated 2 November 2024 and spent 12 weeks at the top; on the chart dated 3 October 2026 it was still there, at No. 73 in its 101st week.[6] In the United States it peaked at No. 3 on the Hot 100 and stayed 45 weeks, and in the UK it reached No. 2.[4][7][8] IFPI, the recording industry's global body, named it the best-selling single in the world in 2025, with 2.06 billion units, the first song with lyrics not in English to lead that yearly ranking.[7] It also appears on her first album, 'rosie', released on 6 December 2024, which entered the Billboard 200 at No. 3.[3][4]

## Awards

At the MTV Video Music Awards at UBS Arena on Long Island on 7 September 2025, 'APT.' won Song of the Year, the first time a K-pop act had taken the category and her first VMA as a soloist.[9][10][11] The same night BLACKPINK won Best Group and LISA won Best K-Pop.[9][10] At the Grammy Awards on 1 February 2026, her first nominations, 'APT.' was up for Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and won none; those went to 'luther', 'WILDFLOWER' and 'Defying Gravity'.[12][13][15] She and Mars opened that ceremony with the song, the first performance at the Grammys by a K-pop solo artist.[14][15]

## From 'rosie' to 'new trick'

After 'rosie' she recorded 'Messy' for the 'F1' soundtrack album and sang on Alex Warren's 'On My Mind', which reached No. 37 in the UK in July 2025.[14][16] Apple and ROSÉ announced 'new trick' on 9 September 2026, and it came out on 17 September.[3][5] It is a pop-punk song written with Amy Allen, and its video, directed by Dave Meyers, was filmed entirely on an iPhone 18 Pro for Apple's 'Shot on iPhone' campaign.[4][5] It entered the Billboard Global 200 at No. 179 on the chart dated 3 October.[6] mymy [reviewed it](/new-releases/new-trick-rose) the day after release.[18] She told Vogue she plans to begin 'a new era' of her music in 2027.[4]

## BLACKPINK

BLACKPINK's Deadline World Tour of stadiums ran from July 2025 to January 2026 and closed with three nights at Kai Tak Stadium in Hong Kong.[1] The group's EP 'Deadline', its first album-length release since 'Born Pink' in 2022, came out on 27 February 2026 and entered the Billboard 200 at No. 8 with 52,000 equivalent album units.[14][17] On 8 August 2026 the group marked ten years since its debut.[1][2]
